Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

- just spent the better part of a bloody week looking and no good leads in sight. checked their records and recorded movements for past seven years and came up with squat. Why these ones and why now? Where is their boss? Or former boss, or dead boss, or whatever that lunatic is at the moment? too many questions not enough answers.
- need to stop loosing myself in work. missed last two meals and had to grab something at the crown. never going to repeat that again.
- came across some of Rokewood's old work. cunning old bastard. still miss him sometimes, then think of what he did to us and get angry.
- dorcas is insane. not news, but worth remembering.

Well, last week certainly was a trying one. You'd think that in this enlightened day and age, those in charge of our venerable institutions would strive to make our government more active, more functional, and more sensible in order to keep our civilization in order, but this does not seem to be the case. At least, if the activities of my bosses are any indication. If I have to fill out one more requisition form and get it signed by three other higher - ups, I'm going to dump a load of dragon dung in someone's boots. A boring week overall.

On the plus side, a friend's birthday is coming up. That's always good for taking the mind of your problems. Particularly when you have to help wrangle half the neighborhod and the gent in question's entire family to set up the surprise on Wednesday. If it weren't for certain workplace acquaintances, I'd say they were the most stubborn people on the face of the earth. There's always some fun in the challenge, though.

You do realize that if your friend has a journal and is reading, then aforementioned friend is aware of said surprise now?

Ah, but you see - this is one of my muggle friends. Even in the smaller and, some would say, less important duties of life I have everything planned for, just as usual.

Well aren't we just the perfect little over-achiever?

Finally, you've hit the nail on the head as far as why I didn't get a Ministry job goes. The whole bureaucratic game gives me a headache.

Birthdays are utterly and completely ace. At home, Mam tends to make a big blighting deal out of them and all, so there ends up being a massive cake and everything. Mind you, there are nine of us, so there'd have to be a massive cake either way, but you can tell she tries extra hard like.
